Disconnected spaces unified by plants and natural stone

The many spaces of this project were connected using natural stone. Old foundation granite was hand split to create steps, and a small patio and walkways were built using irregular bluestone. These steps and walkways connected the house, garage, deck, patio, and lower yard.

Strategically placed shrubs, spreading perennials and ground covers were used throughout the project. Planting them close to steps and walkways allows their foliage to soften the harder edges of the natural stone. Grouping them in all of the areas divided by the steps and walkways truly unifies the entire area.

“Stone Blossom has worked with us on multiple landscape projects, large and small. They have always delivered the highest quality work, from their innovative design solutions to exceptional execution. Plus, Beth and her team are quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We wouldn’t work with any other landscape designer!”
